Agnes (Brobst) Hill

This house was built by Jacob Hill (son of Milton and Gertrude (Strausser) Hill). He and his wife Agnes (Brobst) Hill, lived here throughout their married life. Located across the road from the Hill Homestead, where Jacob was raised. This shop (behind) was where Jacob and his brother John L. Hill started their business.

Milton J. Hill had his own painting and wallpapering business and all of his sons and son-in-law worked for him. Here's the crew in 1941; Stanley Heffner (son-in-law, husband of daughter Ellen), Jacob Hill, Milton J. Hill, and Milton D. Hill. His son John L. Hill worked for him, but is missing from this photo.

With the Hill homestead to my rear, 3 children of Milton & Gertrude (Strausser) Hill built these homes: Esther (Hill) Derr, Jacob Hill and Milton Hill. Their other two children purchased land very close to the homestead.
