John M. and Marie (Schrack) Hill's house (image dated Feb 1960.) The land was purchased from John's grandparents - the south-east corner of the Hill Homestead. With a little help from friends and relatives, John and Marie built this house with their own hands, including laying the block, plumbing, electrical, plaster, sewing all the curtains, etc. ..... It's just the normal way homes were built then.
