This house was built by Milton D. Hill (son of Milton J. and Gertrude (Strausser) Hill). He and his wife Lillian M. (Hoch), and 2nd wife, June R. (Schappell) lived here throughout their married life. Located next to the Hill Homestead, where Milton was raised.

With the Hill homestead to my rear, 3 children of Milton & Gertrude (Strausser) Hill built these homes: Esther (Hill) Derr, Jacob Hill and Milton Hill. Their other two children purchased land very close to the homestead.

Milton J. Hill had his own painting and wallpapering business and all of his sons and son-in-law worked for him. Here's the crew in 1941; Stanley Heffner (son-in-law, husband of daughter Ellen), Jacob Hill, Milton J. Hill, and Milton D. Hill. His son John L. Hill worked for him, but is missing from this photo.
