Gideon Reis Wien was the son of Henry G. Wien and Catharine Reis. He married Louisa Hoffa Hafer.
Louisa Hoffa Hafer was the daughter of Levi Hafer and Valeria Ann Hoffa.
Gideon and Louisa had 11 children: 1) Annie May (married William A. Quimby), 2) Elmer, 3) John Howard (married Minnie E. Bausher), 4) Kathryn Emma 'Katie' (married John Westley Strouse), 5) Ida Estella 'Stella' (Henry Krick Humma), 6) Hattie Louise (married Howard E. Bechtel), 7) Mary Bertha 'Bert' (married Mr. Yoder), 8) Ruth Amelia (married Ralph Henry Bortz), 9) Warren LeRoy (died age 5 months), 10) Holly 'Harold' (or Earl Howard?), 11) Stanley Luther (married Sara M. Eckel), and 12) Clayton.

Gideon Reis Wien, b 14 Sep 1849, d 14 mar 1919. He was the son of: Henry G. Wien b. 3 Mar 1803, d 6 Jan 1867 and Catharine (Reis) Wien, b. 15 Aug 1813, d. 29 Jan 1902. Back says: "Pappy Wien - Mom's father. Here is a picture and it's the only picture, so preserve it. It was taken just before he died. His greatest wish was to see you again, but it's to late now. (He was a wonderful dad Elmer, there are none better."
